Revolt World 2023

Revolt World 2023 stage with Lala Milan serving as Master of Ceremony.

I’ve had a busy weekend, but I decided to stop through to Revolt World in Atlanta on Saturdays. I was there for just a couple of hours, but I managed to snap over 500 photos of attendees.

I must say that this was a big deal and I didn’t realize how immense this was! Everyone had to park at Greenbriar Mall and shuttle onto the property. This was definitely worth the money spent, as there were shows from Yung Miami to King Combs and many others.

What is Revolt World?

In short, this is a festival that celebrates Hip Hop. But it’s really an experience with nice stages, cool activations and plenty of beautiful people. Here’s how they describe themselves:

unforgettable first-of-its-kind event with REVOLT WORLD! We’re reimagining the intersection of culture and creativity with this three-day immersive experience featuring daily lineups of your favorite REVOLT shows, impactful conversations, live performances, interactive masterclasses, experiential activations, a gaming house, creator studio, and more.

This year’s inaugural theme is We Are Hip Hop, and there couldn’t be a better theme as we celebrate REVOLT’s 10th anniversary while also paying homage to the global impact of Hip Hop as we honor its 50th anniversary.

A new technical challenge

I wasn’t lucky enough to receive a press/media pass, and they were strict about bringing professional cameras or zoom lenses! So the challenge was to dumb down my equipment to just a small point and shoot with no flash. To do this, I popped in with my Sony A7iii and nifty 50mm manual lens. With the sunset in minutes upon arrival and no autofocus, The challenge was to keep a steady hand, manually focus and snap clean shots in thick, cheering crowds! I think I did OK given the tough technical challenges and environment. You can see for yourself.

Yes I do! In fact, I have over 25 years of Adobe Photoshop experience. You may optionally purchase a higher resolution, touched up version of your photos. I can also print them if you want. Just reach out to me.

While I typically have lots of outtakes, I included blurry ones this go ’round just in case you liked them, so I don’t have many outtakes this time. These are free, low resolution ones. If you ever want to optionally edit or download the full resolution versions for a few dollars, just reach out to me.

Absolutely. I don’t have a problem removing any photos you don’t like of yourself. Just reach out to me. (There’s no charge.)
